The Atrium at Curtis Center Wedding Photographer

The wedding receptions at the Atrium at Curtis center, one of the Cescaphe's venues in Philadelphia, always look spectacular. This space has one of a kind, unique look that is simply breathtaking. When photographing a wedding, we always strive to tell the couple's story in the most detailed way possible. We want to highlight all the hard work of planning and styling every single piece of the wedding decor and details that the bride and groom put their time into. One of the great opportunities for this kind of pictures is to photograph the couple in the empty reception room before all the guest take their seats. We usually do this set up during the last 20-30 minutes of the cocktail hour. At this point, the reception room is fully decorated and some of the venues even arrange the 'first look' for bride and groom when they see their reception room for the first time.

This particular photograph was right after the bride and groom had their first dance as husband and wife. We have noticed that the colors of the draped ceiling and the uplighting has changed significantly from the way it looked before the beginning of the reception as it was much more of natural daylight in the room. And now, when it got darker, the ambience of the entire space looked more dramatic and vibrant. So we placed our couple in the middle of the dance floor, centered them properly with the chandeliers and asked them to pretend dancing for couple seconds. This scene was lit with one off camera flash positioned slightly to the camera's left.
