Down Town Club is located in a very beautiful and winning area in historic Philadelphia. There are so many unique and gorgeous places where you can go for wedding photographs. One of our biggest favorites in the Merchants Exchange Building, located on the triangular site bounded by Dock Street, Third Street, and Walnut Street in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It features stunning marble stone semicircular facade, marble Corinthian pillars, elaborate ornamentation and beautifully curved stairs on both sides of the building.
One of the bride and groom's specific photo requests was to highlight old city feel in their portraits and they especially wanted to have cobblestone elements featured as well. The Merchants Exchange Building has it all and was a winning solution without a doubt.
We arrived at the location right after the ceremony that took place at the Old Saint Joseph's Church and was five-seven minutes walking distance. We also had plenty of time before the beginning of the wedding reception which ensured a relaxed and enjoyable experience for our couple while photographing their portraits together. Even though the wedding took place at the beginning of September, some of the leaves were already turning yellow as you can see on the left side of the frame. This is another benefit of taking photos in the city that has lots of greenery all around.
