When looking for a Philadelphia wedding photographer, you want to make sure that person or team can meet a certain criteria. As every bride, you want to find someone who you can trust and rely on, someone whose work really speaks to you, who has great reviews and lots of experience and the list can go on and on...But how do you know all of that? What are the most important things you should be looking for in your wedding photographer? This is probably your first experience of planning a wedding and you might feel clueless of what you should be looking for.
As an experienced Philadelphia wedding photographer for many years, I would gladly share with you some tips and advice on how to ensure you find the right person to capture your wedding memories:
Meet in person with your photographer or do a Skype\Face Time call with them. Meeting in person will help you to get to know each other better on a more personal level and see how well you can connect. You might not be realizing it yet, but your photographer's personality plays a huge role. The more comfortable and open you feel in your wedding photographer's presence, the easier it will feel to be in front of the camera. Your wedding photographer is the person who you will probably spend more time on the wedding day then with your future spouse. You want that person to be able to make you laugh, comfort you and put you at ease.
Ask your wedding photographer if he/she have a plan B for a bad weather. An experienced wedding photographer must be able to show you some sample photographs taken in the rain, snow, wind. It is a good idea to take a look at a few complete galleries of rainy/snowy day weddings. That will give you an idea of the wedding photographer's capacity of producing outstanding images in any weather conditions.
Ask your wedding photographer to see some complete galleries that showcase wedding venues that are similar to yours. It doesn't have to be the exact same venue. Your photographer can still be a perfect match without the experience of working at the same venue before. You just want to make sure that he or she is able to work in similar lighting conditions, can handle the size of your reception room and create beautiful indoor portraits.
