If you are getting married and looking for a stellar wedding venue in Philadelphia, Atrium at Curtis Center is one of the most sought after venues, located in the Old City. It is spectacular, majestic and simply breathtaking. Without a doubt, I can say this venue is a photographer's dream to work at. And every single time we document weddings at the Curtis Center, it is one of the most wonderful experiences and highlights of the wedding season.
First, it's huge, meaning there are plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities all around. You can shoot into the beautiful drapes and all up into its famous Tiffany Mosaic. You can take advantage of the shiny marble reflective floor, where you can place bride and groom for some unique portrait. Second, the ambience of the Curtis Center receptions is impeccable, especially with its vibrant purple uplighting. Since the open ceiling is a source of the natural light, once it gets dark outside, it get much darker inside the ballroom as well and the space obtains even a more dramatic and impressive look.
At this photograph of the bride and groom cutting their wedding cake at theAtrium of Curtis Center, there was only one source of light used to lit the scene. And it was coming from the video light place on a light stand by the videographer. It was perfect to lit the couple and the wedding cake for an even, soft and moody look, so we didn't have to use our flashes at all. As wedding photographers, we always look first for what is available on the spot and how can we use it to our advantage and then add any additional light sources and light modifiers to perfect the photograph.
