The Atrium at Curtis Center, one of Cescaphe's wedding venues, is a breathtaking exquisite ballroom like no any other venue in Philadelphia. If you are looking for stellar look for your wedding reception and need a lot of space, Curtis Center is a great choice.
Every time we photograph a wedding at the Atrium at Curtis Center, we often are being asked the same questions: what are the best portrait locations new Curtis Center? And the answer is 'there are plenty!'. Among our favorite Old City locations are the Second National Bank, Carpenter's Hall, Merchant's Exchange Building, 18th Century Garden, Washington Square Park, Independence Square, Thomas Jefferson park etc.
When Melissa and Sam, the bride and groom pictured on the photo above, were planning their day, they allotted around three hours for portraits only. They wanted to make sure they are able to hit one of their most likable Philly spots and also have some time left for some indoor photographs at the Curtis Center. We waited unlit the room was fully decorated and completely empty. The best timing for empty reception room photos is usually 20-30 minutes before the introductions and we usually ask our brides and grooms to allot arounds 15-20 minutes for those photographs. To create the image above, we positioned the couple to the right of the frame. The scene was let by one gridded flash to the couple's right. In order to get the reflection, I had to lay all the way down on the floor, but it the end result was absolutely worth it!
