The Head House Square is one of the most iconic spots in the Old City Philadelphia and it comes without explanations why it attracts so many brides and grooms each weekend throughout the year. This place offers endless opportunities for wedding photos. It is also a number one Old City location where you can plan to go for pictures if it rains on your wedding day.
This particular photograph was taken when it was downpouring all day long. The Head House Square was the location for the couple's first look and since the bride was the first to arrive, we decided to take some bridal portraits instead of just waiting. I positioned the bride just at the entrance of the Head House so that there was enough natural light coming in to lit her face and the string lights were bright enough in the background. We took a few photos with different composition, both vertical and horizontal, but this one is by far my favorite! I love how natural and elegant the bride's expression is, even though I had to position her for this photograph. I especially love the ambient light coming from the background lights and how the natural light streams through her veil.
If you are planning to take some wedding photos inside the Head House, you can have them either artificially lit or naturally lit, depending on the style you prefer the most.
