There are some key elements that, as wedding photographers, we are always looking for when creating photographs for brides and grooms. Emotion. Movement. Action and Reaction. Unique composition.
This photo was taken at the wedding reception held at Brigalias in Sicklerville NJ. We knew from the past weddings we had photographed at this venue that the fountain uplighting had to go on at some point during the night. Luckily, the couple was up to any photo ideas we had and they gladly followed us outdoors for some fun night time portraits. There was no any additional light being used to create this pictures, just the light coming from the fountain. That was a perfect scenario for creating a beautiful silhouette shot. We spotted a marble board nearby, which was successfully utilized to add a reflection element to the composition. In order to add some movement and emotion to the photograph, we asked our bride and groom to hold their hands and dance a bit. And this is the result of what we've got: the couple's genuine reaction of laughter and a those beautifully positioned hands and bodies. I also love how, completely by accident, the bride and groom are framed in those fountain spurts on both sides.
