If you are bride planning your Big Day, you probably have a lot of 'what ifs' crossing your mind from time to rime. 'What if it rains on my wedding day' is probably one of them. As New Jersey and Philadelphia wedding photographers, we have a few tips for you on how to handle a rainy situation on your Big Day.
If you are getting married in Philadelphia, there plenty of wonderful options for your wedding photos for a rainy weather. Among our favorite ones are the Head House Square, the arches of Philadelphia City Hall, the covered area of the Art Museum, 18th Century Gardens' Gazebo etc.
If you feel completely comfortable stepping outside in a rain, we would be happy to create some unique artistic photographs with the rain drops for you as well. We always have a pretty clear umbrella in our car trunk for weddings for our couples' portraits, so we have you covered. It would also be a great idea to get some umbrellas for your bridal party photos. You can coordinate the color of the umbrellas with your bridal party outfits or bridesmaids bouquets.
1. Don't sweat small stuff. Really. I know it is easier said than done. But in the end of the day, all the frustration and negative emotions caused by a rainy day is not the memories you want to have from your special day. Focus on other wonderful thing happening around you. You are marring the love of your life. It is truly the only thing that matters on your wedding.
2. You cannot control the weather. It is not anybody's fault. Since you cannot control it, embrace it and stay as positive as you can. Trust me, Philadelphia looks spectacular on both sunny, rainy and snowy days. And we can make your photos the reflection of that.
3. If you are planning an outdoor ceremony or reception, talk to your venue what kind of a plan B they have in case it rains.
